Using the Peak Extraction Utility

  • General

When building new normative data sets, or for researchers wanting to aggregate peak data, the Peak Extraction Utility can help gather the peak label information, including latencies and amplitudes into a single worksheet for easy analysis.

System Calibration for ER3A and 10D

This document shows the procedure that can be used by field technicians to calibrate transducers to be used with IHS equipment. These calibration values are then applied by the software automatically when performing tests using these transducers for stimulation.

Using the Stimulus Conversion Utility

SmartEP, SmartEP-ASSR, SmartEP-CAM, Intelligent VRA, and Smart Audiometer have the ability to use custom created stimuli, such as speech. Before use, the stimuli must be converted from WAV format to the IHS proprietary stimulus file format. This Smart Note defines the requirements for the WAV files, the steps to convert the stimuli, calibrating the files before use, and some additional usage tips for individual programs.

Loopback self-test procedure for all hardware platforms

The Loopback self-test procedure can be used to evaluate the performance of all hardware platforms for systems that include the SmartEP program. By connecting the sound output of the unit to the signal input of the amplifier, it is possible to assess the proper operation of most of the components. Note that this test does not evaluate the transducers, electrode leads, and electrodes; as these will be disconnected during the… Read More »Loopback self-test procedure for all hardware platforms

Guidelines for System Administrators

  • General

This Smart Note outlines the basic considerations that system administrators and IT personnel must keep in mind for computers that use the IHS applications. These include the requirements and considerations for administrative access for specific folders, location of patient data, identification of files that contain PHI, Encryption, and Antivirus.
