The Loopback self-test procedure can be used to evaluate the performance of all hardware platforms for systems that include the SmartEP program. By connecting the sound output of the unit to the signal input of the amplifier, it is possible to assess the proper operation of most of the components. Note that this test does not evaluate the transducers, electrode leads, and electrodes; as these will be disconnected during the procedure. If you are experiencing issues with your unit, it is recommended to have these results handy before contacting IHS support personnel.
