  • IntelligentVRA version 6.50
  • SmartAudiometer version 5.50
  • PetScreener version 2.50

Installation Requirements

  • The update requires a previous installation of IHS Programs, as the update does not contain a software license, or system calibration information. Attempting to install the update on a computer that does not currently have IHS Programs installed will result in a non-working installation.
  • Hardware units purchased before February 2013 may not be compatible with this version of the software. Contact IHS support to inquire about your specific unit.
  • The software requires that the PC has a minimum of 4GB of RAM, and Windows 10 (any version).
  • You must be running LaunchPad version 2.70 or higher to qualify for this update. If running a version below this, you may purchase new installation media from:, or contact IHS support for alternate methods.
  • Updates to SmartScreenerPlus-2 and VideoVRA are not included in this update package.

Software Changes

  • New Patient Demographics files will now be encrypted using a 256 bit key. These new files have an extension of ‘.IHSDMG’, replacing the old extension ‘.DMG’. This also prevents the blocking of attachments by emails systems of the DMG files, which were in conflict with Mac computer installers.
  • The privacy settings file (DMGHIPPA.SET) now accepts the ‘[ENCRYPT]’ flag. Which activates the encryption of the patient files. This flag is activated by default for new and updated installations.
  • The file holding the list of patients when encryption is active is named ‘IHSDMGLIST.DAT’, replacing the non-encrypted list ‘DMGLIST.DAT’.
  • In the Patient Demographics window, the patient address information now has separate text fields. Previously it was a single text area.
  • Data files will no longer use the patient initials for file naming. Instead they will use part of the patient’s identifier date code.

  • All waveforms are now saved automatically without user prompts, when acquired. Calculated waveforms still need to be saved manually or by saving a report.
  • The on-screen scale bar can now be moved around the screen using the handle located to the top-left of it. However, it will always print at it’s default location.
  • Waveforms that are the result of a summing operations now are displayed using increased line thickness.
  • A label for Cochlear Microphonic (CM) and No response (NR) have been added to the labeling options
  • SmartEP can now load and plot SmartDPOAE results.
  • An indicator (wBLOCK) now shows if a waveform was acquired using Block averaging in the Data File list.
  • An intensity scroll-bar is now available while in Somatosensory modalities to the right side panel. Also in Somatosensory modality, the intensity button in the control panel now changes background color relative to the intensity maximum.

  • SmartEP-ASSR can now load and plot SmartDPOAE results.
  • Option to Save Harmonic and Phase Criteria in the Analysis can now be saved as part of default settings.

  • Probe fit verification added to the end of data acquisition to comply with the IEC OAE standard.

  • Recording file name now displayed on the screen and printouts.
  • The value of Cross Correlation was moved to the bottom of the pass/refer information.
  • Probe fit verification added to the end of data acquisition to comply with the IEC OAE standard.
  • SmartTrOAE can now load and plot SmartDPOAE results.

IntelligentVRA and SmartAudiometer

  • Score buttons have been moved closer to the audiogram plot.
  • Masking controls added to the top-right of the control panel.
  • Option for loading a pre-built partial list of stimuli have been added.
  • Buttons for [Correct] and [Clear] have been added, while a partial stimulus list is selected.
  • The active stimulus indicator on the control panel now changes color to Red and Blue when stimulating the Right or Left side respectively.
  • A speaker masking indicator is now active when the masking is set to ON.
