Software Update 5.54

A new software update has been released with some changes to SmartEP. Most notably, the block averaging feature now allows you to change between average types live, while acquisition is in progress. In addition, Bayesian Weighted has been added as one of the averaging options. See our New Features video on our YouTube channel, here:

NOTE: This post originally only included information for SmartEP 5.54 updated to include a minor version, it has been updated to include information for SmartEP sub-version 5.54.10.

To update to release version 5.54, do the following:

  1. Download the update zip file from:
    https://www.ihsys.info//site/wp-content/uploads/IHS_USB_Software_Update.zip.
  2. Save the file to the downloads folder or any easy to find location, then unzip it. (the option to unzip or extract can be found in the right click menu).
  3. Browse the folder to find the setup.exe program and run it.
  4. Click on the [Start] button to install.

Installation Requirements

  • The update requires a previous installation of IHS Programs, as the update does not contain a software license, or system calibration information. Attempting to install the update on a computer that does not currently have IHS Programs installed will result in a non-working installation.
  • Hardware units purchased before February 2013 may not be compatible with this version of the software. Contact IHS support to inquire about your specific unit.
  • The software requires that the PC has a minimum of 4GB of RAM, and Windows 10 (any version).
  • You must be running LaunchPad version 2.70 or higher to qualify for this update. If running a version below this, you may purchase new installation media from: https://catalog.ihsys.info/shop/software-distribution-thumb-drive/, or contact IHS support for alternate methods.
  • Updates to stand-alone SmartScreenerPlus-2 and VideoVRA are not included in this update package.

SmartEP

Changes as of version 5.54:

  • When performing block averaged acquisition, the averaging method may be changed while acquiring.
  • Added new averaging method: Bayesian Weighted
  • Added ability to pin a recording to a page, right click and choose KEEP to prevent the recording from moving when clearing the page or moving objects to other pages.
  • d’ (D-Prime) analysis added to the recording information panel
  • Added SN10 label to peak marking window
  • The ECoghG area under the curve graph is now a property of the recording and can be activated for the individual recording from the right-click menu or the recording information panel

Changes as of version 5.54.10:

  • When placing a label the latency and amplitude marker will now move simultaneously while using the right/left arrow keys when they are at the same position. If the markers are at different positions, only the latency marker will move.
  • The Stimulus Tab in the Recording Information panel now shows the stimulus window information.
  • The recording information submenu (right-click on a waveform) now shows the impedance information for each electrode as A-, A+, Gnd, B+, and B-).
  • For AARM recordings, the polarity indicators have been changed from a 4 digit numeric codes, to letter indicators for each stimulus channel. A for Alternating, C for Condensation, R for rarefaction.
  • The stimulus window information has been removed from the stimulus information label when it is shown at the start of the tracing.
  • Then the Duet is set to single-channel mode. The EEG panel will only show the ongoing EEG for Channel A.
